Our most Senior Project Manager came the closest by testing his vehicle in reverse (no known gear in a go Kart) when colliding head on with Gavin May. Further mayhem ensued when Barry, the aforementioned reversing expert, while focusing intently on the vehicles passing him, refused to see the return to the pits instruction, thus infuriating his endurance and very competitive team mate, Mr Adrian Humphries. Nevertheless, Adrian and Barry came a competitive 11th of 14!

Family rivalry between Mr Mark Singleton Senior and Billy Singleton Junior was also noted with neither giving way.

The top team award from the office staff went to Mr Mark Singleton and Mr Mark Griffiths who finished in 5th place, the rest of us were truly beaten by younger and thinner competitors.

Top honours went to Mr Steve McQueen Cayford and Chris, Ive’ got my own hat Henley. In second position came Jamie Wright who raced the complete event without a partner and in a creditable 3rd were Wayne Gray and his partner Harry Ring.

A good time was had by all.

Talking of sustainability, the CITB and CSCS have a planned change to the CSCS tests. The changes are to include environmental questions, questions on the new universal hazard symbols, respiratory questions and questions on health and safety behavioural studies. These changes will commence this coming April.

As part of our Company Development and Training Plan, we are pleased to announce that D Bloomfield and N Smith achieved their NVQ III as Occupational Works Supervisors and that B Singleton, R Beattie and J Fernyhough have achieved their Built Up Bitumous Roofing NVQ II.

Our annual training plan will commence in February when we will be equipping our new employees with the following:

• Asbestos Awareness
• Fire Training
• Lanyard and Harness
• Abrasive Wheels
• Emergency First Aid

Trade and supervisor training will also be made available to all employees subject to their ability and experience.

I am qualified to ONC/HNC level building studies.I have a high level of experience in estimating within the roofing industry and would be able to discuss/provide specifications suitable to any project requirements.

With cost often being an issue in today’s climate we believe here at Accurate that we can tailor the roof system you require to the budget you have available.

The project consisted of a complete re-roof using a Bauder Thermofoil Single ply system.

The whole operation was carried out successfully renewing the roof system whilst not disturbing the day to day running of Apple.

The project was completed on time, within budget and quality controlled/managed, using the skills and training of our employees, to produce a product and finish of the highest standard.

Accurate Roofing was pleased to add the software company Apple to its growing list of very satisfied, ‘Blue Chip’ customers.

My role as contracts manager draws upon my knowledge and expertise in, single ply systems, built up felt roofing systems, hot melt rubberised bitumen systems and with a keen interest in environmental issues I have developed an expertise in provision of all types of green roof systems.

Overseeing the quality of workmanship, meeting clients needs in a reasonable and safe timescale and resolving any technical or product issues that may arise.

The sloping curved roof incorporates a ‘Bauder Green Roof’ insulated specification, which by design, visually impresses the observer, whilst at the same time blends the building into its rural landscape.

The finish of the roof mirrored the overall quality of the building (as can be seen from the images).
Accurate Roofing again received a large number of accolades from respected bodies within our industry.
This was another project completed to cost and programme which was won with a competitive tender.

The project brief was to remove the existing asbestos sheeting and successfully dispose of the material before installing a new profiled sheet cladding system to match the adjacent warehouse.

The whole roof system was taken off in sections, removed and replaced within budget and to programme, whilst normal operations continued below.

The 3,500 sq M roof was completed in less than 6 weeks. Valuing our customers as we do, Accurate Roofing was pleased to add Coco Cola to its growing list of very satisfied, ‘Blue Chip’ customers.

I have three areas of responsibility and they are interlinked. My prime role is to initiate, implement and monitor our health and safety policy, practice and procedures. Secondly, I plan and facilitate the training and development needs of the company employees.

The first two areas of my responsibilities combine in my remaining duty, which is to assist in marketing the company to the widest audience.
